About

Founded by Fiona McDonald in 1997, the studio is shaped by decades of hands-on experience working with mid-century modern furniture, lighting and objects. Fiona’s background as a dealer has fostered a deep understanding of proportion, construction and material quality, informing both the careful curation of original mid-century pieces and the development of her own design collections.

Drawing on this knowledge, Fiona and her team create furniture guided by clarity of form, thoughtful craftsmanship and an intuitive sense of scale. Each design is made to order and handcrafted by skilled artisans in South East England, with specialist glass produced in Northern Italy. Sustainability is approached through responsible sourcing and longevity of design, with timber selected from certified suppliers and materials chosen to endure over time.

Alongside the made-to-order collection, the studio maintains a carefully curated selection of original mid-century modern furniture and objects. Sourced across Europe and regularly updated, these pieces reflect Fiona’s long-standing expertise in the field and offer a complementary, readily available resource for interiors that require immediacy without compromising on quality or character.

The London showroom, located in Fulham opposite Bishop’s Park and moments from the River Thames, offers a calm and welcoming setting in which to experience the collection. Here, made-to-order designs sit alongside a rotating selection of mid-century pieces, with materials and finishes on display to support conversations around scale, detail and use. Fiona and her team work closely with private clients, interior designers and architects, offering a collaborative and informed approach to projects of all sizes.

At the heart of the studio is a belief in furniture that is made with care, chosen with intent, and designed to be lived with for many years.
